well its time to re purpose my Lian Li D600 so the idea is to repaint it metallic blue and by the time I finish I can put my Z97 stuff from my other build in to it and upgrade my main rig to X99 goodness

so this it the little case I'm talking about.

nasty looking but it will do the job.

now on to the primer. not just the cast but panels and bay bits.

Wow you certainly don't hang about do you. Love the colour bud and can't wait to see what it looks like once you get some more coats on it. :)

cheers. it wont look right until I get the layers built up and the clear coat on though.

Nice shade of blue, look forward to seeing how you get on.

for car paint its amazing how few colours there actually are. so many so similar but no real range. sad. never mind this will look good. trying to decide if i should add pearl to the top coat!

the chrome bit look much better in real life. I just couldnt get them to go bling under the spotlight of the camera.

most of the bits will under go 3-5 layers of clear coat now and hopefully the results will be good. I am stuck though with what to do with the front panel as it look too flat.

something will come to mind i'm sure

well its time to put the big bits back together!

this is what has slowed the whole process down. the ruddy silver paint takes 3 weeks to dry properly

thats it for now.

The 240mm rad is waiting for the paint to dry (3 weeks) before I can pop that in there. and tehn its a waiting game for me to buy the x99 kit and I can swap all my case internals over from my other rig.

small update.

threw the new rad and modded fans in today just for kicks.

the screws will be replaced with nice shiny silver ones when they turn up
