Just thought id post my pics of my fathers bsa, sorry I didn't take any before pictures but it wasn't in too bad a condition, hasn't been started since mid 1980's
I think its a 1964 model but not sure with missing logbook

jobs done so far

sourced fitted original mudguards/front nacelle
fitted new seat foam and cover
spray painted all tinwork myself in bmw zanobar red
petsealed inside the tank
new tank rubbers
ground down and brush painted the swingarm/frame in hammerite

still need to do

needs wheel rims re chroming, only sprayed silver temporary
still need to apply for new updated logbook but it involves taking rubbings of frame numbers and doing it through the bsa owners club
needs the wiring loom sorting out
could do with new shocks as current ones are tatty

tank needs a repaint as im not satisfied with the finish on that
no idea when ill get it registered and running as funds are very tight :(

From what I can remember it was slowish and a bit of a thumper till it got up to 25+. Mine was second hand in 1966 so no idea of the year. They did make them for quite a while.
I believe there is someone on the net that has collated a full list of years and colour schemes for them. I'll see if I can find the link.

Unexciting, very predictable & solid, I managed to right off a car with 1 back in 1981 after I t boned an Austin Allegro at a junction, I was only doing 30mph :D

I managed to park mine in the drivers door of a car that pulled out on me. (I went over the car and landed on my backside.) My first words were 'Is the bike ok ?'
That was around 30mph. One solid bike.

@One idk when ill start it,id love to but I cant find my dad's manual to it,the wiring is in poor condition and its a positive earth

I just wanted to put it all together as it was all in pieces rusting away

the engine turns over freely, and I shoot some oil down the plug hole now n then, havn't touched the carb

EDIT: @ cat that's the link I used a few years back, good source of info in there,i found the place in Birmingham for the seat foam/cover and where to get the stainless spokes from
