Yeah I know the name of the project isn't the best, but I'm not the most creative of people.

The budget was as close to £500 as humanly possible, I failed at that as you can probably see - the system came in at £580.

The computer is for a friend who has had enough of his current setup, constant complaints from him forced me to tell him to get a new PC.

The order was made tonight and this is what we've lined up for him.

I hope you guys enjoy reading what's going to happen.

Things went swimmingly, then I tried to boot it.

So I was up at the crack of dawn today, and the delivery came at 8am - which is insane in my area so kudos to DPD.

Unboxed it all an this is what I ended up with.

So everything was A-OK! Fitted it nicely into the case (which I must admit, is rather nice).

So anticipating the boot I turned it on, and the fans whirled up. Yay!

But then they stopped.

Panic ensued - what the hell had happened?

Checked all of the connections, nothing wrong as far as I can see.

Tried it again.

Nothing.

Changed the power cable.

Nothing.

Starting to crap myself now, quickly grab the phone and call Overclockers.

Went through the standard (did you do this, and that and this?). Everything seemed fine, so I didn't break it by the looks of things. Told me to take it out of the case and see if it was just shorting so I did.

Still nothing.

Phone them again, going to have to RMA the motherboard.

Bit disappointing, but hey ho.

That's life.

Yeah, I was really impressed with the case.

The RAM is fine, it does look like a motherboard issue the more I look into it.

He's taken it well, should be built by Sunday - so that's not too long too wait.
