Project CARS looks absolutely stunning and I wish I had jumped on this when I had the chance. nVidia comfortably winning in this bench and sadly no 980 or 970 being benched :(

looking at those figures, going to need some serious gpu grunt to get the best out of it. Although it's still WIP so lets hope it becomes better optimized.

No Crossfire results? It would seem crossfire is also not working at all seeing a 295x is on par with 780ti we all know that shouldn't be the case.

Not the best bench tested tbh

I'm getting a lot more than the scores there are showing. Close to double on average in fact, though it's hard to say what specific settings are being used and some tracks/scenarios are more demanding than others.
For example, detailed grass doesn't do much, yet it can tank fps pretty badly and the game is not really well optimized as yet.

Anyway, given that there are Nvidia signs plastered all over the place on track, it's not surprising that they do better ;)
Don't worry, I'm not kicking off some conspiracy debate :D It is what it is.

Crossfire doesn't really work or work well in this one yet.

yes take with pinch of salt. games being optimized and will run fine on consoles.

crossfire also not working properly in those benchmarks.

Just to let you know gents we released an improved Crossfire profile update for this game in our 14.9.2 driver which gives an extra performance boost. These benches were run on 14.4 drivers back in May, there was no crossfire profile in that driver.

I'm using 14.9.2 and we've already discussed this privately mate :) It doesn't actually do anything.

Ah yes i remember now. I will have to investigate as I've not had time to play it myself yet. I've had others say it was an improvement so will need to double check.

The 780 destroys the 290x so a 295x2 wouldn't be that much faster then a 780ti, if at all.

Yeah?
I'm playing it maxed out with detailed grass off and MSAA. My results match the 780Ti SLI results on that graph with a single card.

Again, it's hard to know what exact settings are being used and in what scenario.Like I said, one or two of them offer no appreciable graphical improvement at the expense of massive fps loss and may or may not favour one side or the other.

The game is not ready yet.

Crossfire aside, the Hawaii cards performance looks quite rubbish in that old bench...would the new driver bring it up to the level they should be at?

Thanks Matt

Ever thought about drivers? And not the men behind the cars. :p
It's an Nvidia working title they will be working close by and getting better optimisation.

Seriously, wait until the game is released or very close to that point.

While it likely will run better on Nvidia due to being sponsored by them, it's too early to be drawing absolute conclusions.

A little premature now the game has been pushed back to March '15 Performance problems on AMD cards are well known, on the WMD forums, and the render lead on PC has been in contact with AMDs driver team about it and you can be sure it will be fine come release. And for those saying the game isn't well optimized, couldn't disagree more. There have been loads of optimizations taking place over the last couple of months and PC performance has also benefited from profiling that has taken place on the consoles.

I myself am running in surround (5900*1080) with SLI 780's and with everything at ultra, minus detailed grass, can hold 60FPS adaptive v-sync in dry conditions against a large grid of AI (24+). Wet conditions tougher until the field spreads out.

This is one game I seriously want. I have had a little play on it and OMG, I had a single Titan running with everything (including grass details) set to max and no idea on frames but smoothness was fantastic.

To say it isn't optimised I can't really comment but on my system, I would take it as it is.
