Project Cars question

I am really tempted with this game but am a fairly 'casual' gamer.
Does it have much in the way of just a free drive mode where you can pick a car and just do timed laps etc?

Also, how graphically intensive is it?
Currently running a 3570k and Geforce 560Ti.

You can pretty much drop in and do as you want. Your system will definitely play it at medium settings @1080

@ajf: If you don't mind me asking is this game just a racing game around tracks? I'm considering it but I don't fully understand what it is still.

Yes, I think so, although, to be honest, I am not 100% sure!
I think the big thing about it is the realism in terms of graphics and car physics.

I'm quite a casual gamer when it comes to racing games as well and I like it. There is a challenge there but you can setup a custom session including weather, cars, opponents etc.

There is also the career mode where you work up through the ranks etc and online so it appeals to everyone imo

And yeah, its just a racing game around tracks.
