I'm not far from completing PGR3 in Gold (Hard) mode. There is one circuit which is driving me nuts. I've got to do a hot lap around it in circa 6-7 minutes (dependant on which class of car I drive).

Does anyone have any suggestions or tips on how to complete this. I'm really struggling for time here. Everytime I fail a race, I have effectively wasted seven minutes.

What kind of speeds should I be taking the curves at? I try and take most of them at 90-100, but some of them I have to dip right down to 50-60.

One other question, two of the curves towards the end of the race appear to have some kind of banking or raised surface. What is the best way to approach these? The first one is a pain, I can get round the corner on it, but then when I come off it, I bounce into a crash barrier. The second one is much better, and i can get round it quite quickly without any trouble.

Cheers

Watch one of the hotlap ghost replays on Live, they'll help you. Only real thing to say is practice, use a quick class car that you're happy driving with and know how it handles, then just practice. If you do find yourself messing up on a lap, don't start again and just try and get to know the rest of the track as you'll find yourself an expert at the start of the track and total noob at the end of the track otherwise.

Yeah,
I guess I'm going to have to get used to driving a class A or B car. I've completed most of the game using the 355 GTS. I find the main trouble with the class a/b cars is that they are incredibly easy to spin out of control if you throttle it round the corners too fast.

Try a class B car for the track, the Enzo is a great car overall. I found some of the class A cars too fast, as I got used to taking a lot of corners in the enzo flat out.

Thanks for the help guys,

I completed the race with the Enzo Ferrari. I found it a great car once I'd learnt to control it.

I did the race in Gold (Hard) Mode, and completed it with 3 secs to spare. To say I am elated is an understatement.

No doubt, the remaining two race series I have to complete in order to finish the game will be just as taxing and infuriating...

I found the final races pretty damn easy, and only the non-F1 Nurburgring races to be difficult towards the end. The last few races are eliminators, and I found I could do them pretty easily on platinum.
