Hey guys, long time lurker doing my first post \o/

So originally, this build was just supposed to be a refresh of my current rig that I have, taking it out of the big bulky case, putting everything into a smaller case, new graphics card and an mATX motherboard to boot.

Current rig:

(Space for in case photo when its not dark)

Specs
CPU: i7-3820 - Had a gentle overclock of 4.3, but turned it down when I tried the W10 preview, and it kept crashing. Plus its not that great for OC anyway.
MB: Gigabyte X79-UP4
RAM: Corsair Dominator 16GB PC3-14900C9 1866MHz
GPU1: EVGA FTW GTX600
GPU2: EVGA SC GTX660
SSD: Samsung 840 250gb
Case: XClio Something - This case. Ugh. NONE of the stock fans work. You know how hard it is to find a decent 25cm fan? :')
That Intel AIO Cooler - Meh.

So anyway. Originally I wanted to reuse my CPU, its only 2 years old and it has served me rather well. Major but: I wanted a mATX board, and for the life of me I could not find one that supported DDR3. So I began swapping and changing bits, doing a bunch of research, looking at pretty parts and review videos etc, I THINK Ive finally decided on a build.

New Rig:
Case: Corsair Carbide Air 240 Black
CPU: i7-5820k
MB: Gigabyte X99 Gaming-5
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16GB DDR4 PC4-19200C14 2400MHz in Red
GPU: Gigabyte G1 GTX970 (Am I right in believing the Windforce logo can be coloured?)
Raijintek Triton AIO Water Cooling Solution Red Fluid/Red LED
POSSIBLY thinking of a GSync monitor

Looking to get this within the next few weeks, pretty stoked for it, but always looking for comments/advice/suggestions that could improve my build/my wallet :D

My current rig will be getting sold to a friend, minus the SSD

So yea, what do you think?

Fair enough on the 4820k being x79.

The problem with the ASUS Gene IV is that its WAY over my budget. Its a very nice board, but its FAR too much and fairly hard to get a hold of.

I COULD make it work with my current CPU, but it would end up costing me more, as my friend wont buy it then, leaving me out of pocket if I wanted to go that way. Its a tough one.

Maybe I will just have to get a 5820k :D

Aye it does. Im completely up in arms now about everything. I was pretty set on the Carbide 240, I really like the aesthetic of it, however the Fractal Node 804 is also very nice, and its a bit bigger so I could go for a full W/C system...

Decisions, decisions...

Ah nice one. Am I right to assume Ill have to change the LED colour myself, rather than it being an RGB/software affair?

Nevermind, found a chap on Google thats done it and posted his pictures.
