Project Irony "Glutton For Punishment".

The main problem is the fact it would take an enormous amount of time to basically achieve the exact same end result dude. Time that right now I want on other things. Like for example gaming. Over 70 hours into BL4 now and still tons left to do. And of course the GECK.

This will be my gaming PC. Not a mod project I want in bits for several months. The spare PC I have has a Arc A 770 in it. I am sure it would get thoroughly laughed at by BL4.

As a side note though I fixed the mouse earlier. The AW610M. It was blinking pink which indicates a dead battery. Hardly surprising given I have had it for about 7 years. So I took it apart, cleaned it to look like new and removed said battery. I then flashed the firmware to the latest version and it is all working tout sweet.

I also decided not to get the expensive headset as apparently they don't sound very good. So I will just get the cheapest white wired one.

3D print as a service? I know that JLCPCB and PCBWay do it. Haven't looked at pricing though.
I recently used a local company Port3D.co.uk to make an extender for a games controller (Gamesir G8+) - I struggled to upload the file on his website, but the chap was quick to answer my email and I was really happy with the print (far cheaper than expected, too).

Happy to recommend.

We'll see. I might get a rush of blood to the head and decide the hours upon hours are worth it :D

Hopefully by tomorrow evening I will know what I want to do. Off over in the morning. Seriously, as a big kid Alienware fan this has been the longest week of my life lol.

OK big splurge.

Just recently I bought a brand new 14600KF that was going to go in my 5090 build. However, I changed direction and went for the 245k to save some power. As such I have a brand new in box 14600KF. Whilst the 5700X3D is great for gaming it lacks for design etc. I would imagine it is the clock speed. I do have an almost new B760 Strix ITX but it is DDR5 and yeah. Not happening.

So, I hunted down this.

It's not just cores. I need more sockets etc. In a PC that will be mostly for productivity I miss having slots etc. So the obligatory..

And sorted. Am going to try my 8 pack DDR4 4000 4x8 and see how that works.

Sundries.

And then this. This will be the harness for the front light tube LEDs.

Gap-filling glue and a Dremel. I believe that's additive and subtractive manufacturing methods both represented there ;)

Is that the headset you're not getting then? ...or does it just look the part?

The paint looks interesting. Be interesting to know if it's easy to work with for idjots (I'm talking me here, clearly not you!) and whether the toughness of it is worth any extra cost or difficulty.

That’s the cheap headset. It was £46.

The JB is for the front USB mod thing.

Edit I’ve also ordered a contact frame but the pic didn’t display.

Edit again.

I will only use 2k paints now. Once I started last year on my bikes that was it.

Ah, it's old-school two-pack automotive paint. Mmmm, full of cyanide'y goodness for both dermatitis and asthema. Out of interest, have you tried the 2k ADC that don't have isocyanates in and are claimed to be indistinguishably as good? Is it a lie?

OK this is the contact frame.

And I got two of these. I bought two 120mm slim last time I was over, so this should make sure I can stuff it to the gills with fans.

I have obs ordered some etch primer also. Am hoping to get the metalwork and paint done in one day if all goes well.

Famous last words lmao

OK so finally after over a month it is here. It is also as sold (brand spanking new) and covered in protective plastic.

I will also be using my 4x8gb kits of 8 pack DDR4. Mostly as one set is DDR4 4000 with tight timings and the other set is 4133. I had these running for about two years at 4000 in my 12700K machine and they worked flawlessly.

Oh yeah couple of things.. Firstly I was spot on. There is no rad holder included. Secondly? wow it is waaaaay smaller than it looks. Which is a real bonus.

nice that the case came still wrapped

hah yeah it does !. It's not terrible actually. A bit flat, but then ain't that what people want? deffo not bass heavy or flabby.

OK so happy birthday to me (literally. 52 today and totally forgot lmao).

OK so that is how that works.

For the bin..

And then various states of undress.

Before.

Marking and cutting tomorrow. It is amazing how tiny the actual shell is.

Spot on haha.

So I soon realised that the 40cm neons were going to be far too long for the main logo LED thing. Problem is finding them in 30cm is very hard and or expensive. So I got two of these, with the intention to pull them to bits.

Whilst at it I got this. WIFI 7 router. It will bypass the awfulness of the Now router. The wifi signal in my room is so poor my mate "zorps" when we are gaming. Thing is when I test the net on my phone it is fine, but the PC hates the wireless. So with the WIFI 7 card, new board etc this will help a ton.

OK well I have started taping it out for cutting. Have done some measurements and apparently it is 310mm in the GPU area. Mine is 308... However I am still going to remove that section of the case. You will see why soon !

*cut snip peel rip*. Wait wut?

lmao. Tight buggers !!! And t'other end.

Et violin.

If you look very closely you can see a pinout. It is indeed 12v non addressable. So yeah, we will fix that.
