Hi all, first build/project log so if I'm doing anything wrong or missing something please let me know.

I wanted to dive into WC and thanks to the MM I got myself a really good deal to get me started.

Main colour of this build will be white, with the odd bits of black/red for contrast.

The build name "Jon Snow" came from a mixture of a few things.
1. First name is Jon :)
2. White themed build
3. Who doesn't like GoT right?
4. Winter is coming

Now on to the part list:

Main components will consist of the following:

i7 3770k
Maximus Gene V
2x PowerColour 280x TurboDuo
GSkill Ripjaws X 2x4GB 2133Mhz Red
Intel 520 Series 240GB SSD
Corsair AX860
Fractal Arc Mini R2

Now, on to the WC gear:

1x XSPC AX360 White
1x XSPC AX240 White
1x EK X-RES DDC 100 pump/res
10x XSPC Compression fitting(Black Chrome)
3x EK PSC 90 degree revolvable fitting
1x EK Supremacy Acetal
2x EK Waterblocks 7970/280x Nickel CSQ
1x EK-FC Bridge Dual Serial CSQ Plexi
2x Primochill Advance tubing 7/16mm
1x Mayhems XT-1 Red
10x Akasa Piranhas

Special thanks go to JimboTheGiant for providing me a huge savings on most of the gear.

Miscellaneous:

Bitfenix Alchemy Braided Extension Cables white/white for the following:
  • 24pin
  • 2x 6pin
  • 2x 8pin
E22 small cable combs for the above extensions.

Peripherals:

CM QuickFire TK Browns
Corsair M65
Edifier R1600T
Qnix QX2710 @96Hz

Here's a quick paint job of the loop.

4dj9hTF.jpg

The plexi blocks, bridge and res will hopefully show the red coolant along with the red RAM while the white tubing keeps to the theme.

The circled points/ports is where I'll be using the 90 degree fittings, thinking I'm going to need an extender from the front rad>res if i want to use a push pull configuration.

I decided against 45 degree rotaries as I feel that there are no tight bends in the loop to cause trouble plus I do like the look of curving tubes :)

Any feedback/opinions are welcome :)
I will get actual pics when I have all the parts.

The next week or so is going to be busy!

Stay tuned :D

Hmm, interesting...
Saw one of the forum members do it before, not sold on it though.
I dont want to look through the window and just see white :p
I like the red/blacks of the motherboard as it contrasts the white.

I did think of swapping out the RAM for a black/white one as well as using Mayhems white pastel.

Update:

Cpu block and fittings arrived today
Just placed the order for the following earlier :
Cable combs
Mayhem xt1
Braided cables
Angled fitings
Psu Bridger
Case

Should be expecting them on Monday.

I should also be expecting a big package from JimboTheGiant tomorrow containing the following:

DDC pump/res
2x gpu blocks
2x radiators
Psu

Braided cables arrived from a member in the MM.

Sad to say, I wont be using them....
They dont look white anymore, they're just stained and looks yellowish now.
Will have to braid my own then which may take a while :o

Hi guys, sorry for the slow progress.
Apartment won't have internet till Tuesday so using Starbucks to get these pics uploaded.
Still waiting on my di ionised water to use for flushing but have been building the rig slowly.
Apologise in advance for the potato pics and crappy lighting.

Some changes which have been made:
Clear tubing
Mayhem's white pastel
Bitfenix white braided cables (oroinally thought about returning them but upon receiving a new 6pin and comparing it to the colour of the used ones, they seem wry similar.)

Hi guys sorry for rarely updating the thread.
First week of moving in to apartment and first week of uni was just too busy to get any free time to get the build going.
Anyhow,I've had time last night and today to get a few more things done.
Also ran into few problems on some of the parts, mainly the water blocks and fitting the front rad into the case.
Here's how it is so far.

Single bracket will be used for both the blocks so I can still use my soundcard :)

Both cards connected via EK Terminal :)

Love these fittings :D
Also the stain you see is caused by red coolant used by JimboTheGiant where the part was used in his previous build.

I just love how the the chrome part of the rad matches the fitting :D

Hi Jim, yeah it was removable, seemed like it was just to help reduce rattling/vibration on the cooler.

Really not sure yet.
Due to the scratched white tubing ocuk sent, they've have sent me clear tubing with 2l of white pastel.

So I have in my possession:
2m of clear tubing
2m of white tubing(will need to get this cleaned though)
150ml of mayhems xt-1 blood red
2l of mayhems pastel white

Originally I had thought about clear tubing with white pastel but decided against it due to cost of the coolant.
But now that I finally have it, I'm not sure.

Ah, there's another spanner throw in the works.
Problem after problem :o

After trying to fit the 360 rad, it seems that the holes don't align properly, if at all :o

Really disappointed as it's the only white rad I would've used, and it turns out there's no other white rads available except for the Monsta's white edition.

More delays, it seems :o

Not sure if jimbo would accept a return :p

Now that you mentioned it, I may try using white plastidip on the radiator.

Thanks for the suggestions guys.
Jimbo, the holes align slightly but not enough to put a screw in.
I think it's the distance from the side of the radiator to the fan holes that's the problem.

Paulstung, I have ordered a set of jeweller's file to extend the fan holes a little, shouldn't take too much as they're only off by a mm or two.

Here's how the radiator holes align with the fan holes

Also decided to ditch the red part of the build ie. Coolant/ram, ram will be replaced with white stuff when I get time.

After a few hours and blistered thumbs and fingers trying to get the fittings sorted, I finally got it to screw properly albeit not all the way through.

Have leaked test, since noon today till around 6pm with no leaks.

Decided in the end to keep the red ram and use red dye.

Maybe when the time comes for me to redo the loop I'll go for white.

Ran Valley benchmark for 1 run and max temp was 48c :)

Will get more photos and temp results tomorrow.

Well it's all up and running.
Spent the last few days trying to get a decent overclock.
But settled for 4.4Ghz in the end as it was reasonable in terms of voltage/speed/temperature.

Thanks, it's actually going to get taken down in the coming week(s) :o

Switching to a single 780Ti, and finally going to redo the tubing with white tubing :)

Sorry for the late reply.
It's the PCB for a LED strip I have from NZXT :)

Anyway, here's a little updated photo of the build.
Sorry I didn't take any during the rebuilding process as well as the potato quality(light isnt very good here).
Will take more when I have a little bit more time.

Ive got 2 x 240s in mine was thinking about a 360 in top is there no way you could fit it and still allow for a 140 exhaust at the back?

How are you controlling the fans i was thinking about using the in built?

Sorry for the very late reply.
I never get notifications anymore for some reason.

As far as I can see/tell, if you want to use a 360 on top.
Youll have to sacrifice the rear exhaust.
As for controlling the fans, I use PWM splitters and connect them to the motherboard header and then use Fan Xpert 2.

DLMousey, thanks mate.
I always wanted white in the first place :p
Yeah, i thought I might as well use them.

I should have another little update in the coming few weeks when my exams are finished.
Things Im looking to do are:
Replace rads with Mayhems Havocs 240 + 360.
Naked Ivy Mount for the CPU
Replace the pump with a D5 hopefully if funds allow

Build UPDATE

Hi all, after a few months of having my setup I have decided to change a lot of things.
These things include:
Radiators
Pump
Res
Fans

I will be using the following items to replace the above:
Radiators: AX360/AX240 out | Mayhems Havoc 360/240 in
Pump/Res: EK DDC XRes 100 out | EK D5 X Top Plexi + Barrow 220mm Reservoir in
Fans: 6 Akasa Piranhas PWM out | 3 NoiseBlocker eLoops in

The core components are still staying the same with the following:
Delidded i7 3770K (Direct Die contact)
Maximus Gene V
Corsair Vengeance LP White 2x4GB
GTX 780Ti
Corsair AX750W
Intel 520 Series 240GB SSD
Samsung 1TB 2.5" HDD
Fractal Design Arc Mini R2 (contemplated whether to swap it with the Phanteks Evolv :o)
Bitfenix Alchemy Extensions White

Pictures will follow once the items start arriving.
I did get the Barrow reservoir yesterday but it arrived with a small crack so sending it back.
The D5 Xtop is also here, but that would be boring on its own :p

Yup. I certainly do.
As you can seen from this log.
Not even 6 months and its been taken down twice already.
