OK guys, time for my first project!

I have 'acquired' an old RM server case and I'm planning to create a sturdy case, with room to watercool in the future.

So far I have broken it down to bare parts (removing rivets with a dremel and improvised screw/drill bit is noisy but fun!) and am ready to sand/paint. However I have heard stories about the impact of painting the internals of a case. Therefore, I have a couple of questions:

How will painting the inside of the case affect the acoustics/temperatures/electrical grounding?

Am I being too worry-some over this? Being a bit n00bish?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I will be putting photos up, just not much to show ATM :P

So in answer to my question, I'm worrying over nothing :P

Another question though: anyone in/around NW Leicestershire have a rivet gun handy? Those rivets I took out will eventually need replacing lol. Guess what I forgot... :s

Pop Rivetter and a selection of rivets can be bought from your local DIY store for under a tenner, not a big investment.

Photos as promised. Havent taken any recently, but these'll have to do for now:

Also, my grandfather has brought me his rivet gun over with assorted rivets. Handy for the build!

Like I say, I will update the pics as soon as the paint has dried on the front of the case, and I'll show the mods I have done to the motherboard tray.

Cheers guys :)

That looks like an old antec dragon case to me. There's one sitting next to me right now... Have fun!

PK!
