A while back I decided to build myself a custom mATX case with some cheap components. I have managed to get together some components and I put them all together last night, and I was amazed to find they all worked first time

It didn't even need a re-install of linux :)

Speck is:

Intel E6300 1.8Ghz C2D
PC Chips P23G r3.0
2Gb Corsair PC6400C4
ATI x1050 128Mb (Going to be replaced with a nVidia 7300 GS AGP)
Coolermaster GeminII Heatsink
Creative Sound Card (Not sure what one)
40Gb HDD (Going To Get A Better/Larger One)
Hiper 580w PSU

I need to get a few more things like a slim line slot loading DVD writer, some cathodes, power buttons, larger HDDs and a wireless card.

On to the important bit, the case ;)

I have been playing round in some 3D design software to come up with an idea for the case as here is what I have so far (Roughly to scale)

With the layout of the components looking something like this

The case will hinge in two places, the top and the middle, to allow assess to the MB and PSU. I'm not sure how I'm going to make the openings for the PCI/AGP cards but I will have a think on that tomorrow when I draw up some schematics that will take into account the actual size of the items.

Feed back on the design would be appreciated and I am open to a new design.

More to come soon ;)
