** PROJECT LOGS - NOW A MAIN SECTION **

In 2010, We created a Project Logs section as a subsection within Case Central.

This was designed to give our forum members a place to post about their systems and showcase their work.

In the past two years we have seen a massive range of systems and enthusiast builds from home theater systems to full desk builds with record breaking systems installed into them.

After much discussion, we have decided that the Project Logs section deserves its own recognition on the forums as a main section within Hardware.

You guys have made this possible thanks to your enthusiasm and creativity.

Being the only Moderator for this section also, I must commend each and every poster for their good behavior since I asked for a Project Log area on the OcUK forum.

A big thankyou to all of the forum members who have contributed and shared their systems with the forum. It is a genuine pleasure to see what you guys create.

Now that the Project Log section is in its new place, hopefully it will encourage even more activity in one of my personal favorite sections of the forum.


For any newcomers, check out the Project Log section and consider sharing your next project, no matter how small.

Here's to the continued success of one of the most friendly sections of our forum!

Excellent, and as you say hopefully it'll attract more attention :)

I'm about to embark on a new build with some modding and watercooling, neither of which I've done before so i'll get a full log going soon :D

You speak the truth :)

I do like browsing the project logs section as it gives a lot of people inspiration into entering the world of building there own computer and being proud of doing it.

Good move rich.
 
Firstly that really good news
It give a definative home for non-case mods (chairs, desks, lighting, pcb layouts, headphone stands, etc)

Now it's got it's own section is it possable to have a subsection to divide the actual project logs where people actually mod / paint / scratch build there hardware.
For the increasingly common system builds.

Don't get me wrong a well build pc, colour matched and tidy is a joy to behold.
But it's not a project

I guess you could do it as a sticky - as it's extra work for rjkoneill to keep stuff in the right place.

I had been thinking about that in honesty. its something that would make moderating it a bit of a pain.

In my honest opinion, I feel that peoples projects that are well thought out, generate their own attention.

I am just as guilty of putting a standard build or two in the project log section [perhaps I should rename it to build logs to make it all encompassing?]

At the moment, I have no plans to change it.

it is rare that there are reports of bad behavior in the section but its still a lot to moderate on your own.

my main fear is that adding lots of subsections would dilute the section too much creating busy sections and quiet sections.

take a look at my old TJ07.

I literally purchased everything for that build bit by bit.

it took me over a year to get the parts together to complete the build properly.
 
A great move - this can only add to the site's "flow"

I only spotted the change last night - it feels more intuitive in it's own location as opposed to being a "submenu". Hopefully this will encourage more traffic there.
