We're looking to use some project management software at work and I've been given the task of finding it. I've had a quick look around the net and the choice is pretty staggering, even by just looking at the wiki list. So I thought I'd ask here and see if any1 has a good recommendation.

We're aim to use it to keep track of orders and status of current jobs, since we're a small business, we'd hope to use something free, or at least have a trail period with it.

Microsoft Project? I'm not sure how expensive it is but it's something that we are currently about to learn! For super free back to gaant charts and similar ;)

I use Toms Planner a lot at work when i need to whack together a quick timing plan ot similar. Used to use MS Project a lot but I am too lazy now!

What do you need the system to do though? Doesn't sound like you need timing plans etc.? More like an order management system?
