So do you work with more off the shelf products rather than bespoke stuff?

I found the public sector to be much worse than the private sector in terms of overall competance (devs, pms, bas), people just seemed to be able to do whatever they wanted! Much prefer where I am now (private sector), but we still have our gems!

What in gods name are you talking about? Where did I say what I was getting? Basher said PMs earn more that MOSS architects, I disagreed and showed him evidence, to which he accepted.

I'm finding it pretty funny that the people criticising me are the ones not READING THE ******* THREAD!

So, perhaps you should get over it fella?

Actually you're slightly incorrect. I only claimed people were PMs who were attacking ME and making character judgements based on this RANT thread. I didn't attack people who 'defended' PMs.

It's a rant, I really cannot see how anyone here could not take it slightly tongue in cheek - did you leave your sense of humours in your spreadsheets?!

So if anyone would like to know how this little story ended, I finished the task today and let the PM know, and I was met with the reply "Oh, the client have changed their minds so don't do anymore work on it".... I wasn't at all surprised!

The good news is I'm off that project and back of my MOSS rebuild project. Nero is happy once more!

you cant defend the pm's he has had experience with as you have only had one example from him.

On a side note - the guy playing in the saxophone shop above me really cant play the "happy birthday" song...

If they haven't figured it out yet, no amount of reasoned explanation will help them! Perhaps we should just be thankful that they are not PMs...?
