This project was going to be a batman themed build, but then I started playing mass effect 2 again and remembered how obsessed i am with the franchise and how much I cant wait for ME3 so decided to change the theme to Mass Effect.

This how it was before I started the customisations.

I felt the inside of the case was too dark to so added 4 white bitfenix spectre fans and replaced the UV led with a white led strip. I also wanted to clean up the lines in the case so I had a custom mid-plate created with 2 fan cut-outs for my rad. I also got a sheet of white acrylic to fill the gap behind my pump which not only looks better it also helps with cable management.

Here is a better looks at the pump area

Once I had the acrylic installed it was time to begin the mass effect customisations. I decided I wanted to get some mass effect stickers for the build but couldn't find anywhere that did them! Eventually I found a chap in the USA selling some stickers which were the perfect size to use as fan badges. The sticker on the fan is a the paragon symbol, My characters in the game are normally renegades but the red symbol would have looked out of place in my white/blue them.

My next search for Mass Effect stickers took to me to chap in Lithuania who was selling large mass effect logo stickers, so I added it to the mid-plate and I think it looks awsome!

I do realise I need to flip my psu over :) before anyone points that out.

Im not finished yet though :). I need to order some more acrylic to cover up the side of the drive bay area to make it look cleaner and then I will attach another Mass Effect logo. I am still working on the front of the case and have tried a couple of different fan controllers but none look good enough! someone please release a White fan controller!!! I am having a white acrylic faceplate being custom made for my XSPC bay res which is going to look sweet. I thik i may also try and get some custom faceplate for my fan controllers but i'm not sure if that's possible.

Now the inside of my case is looking so nice I will also need to get a window cut. I got my inspiration for the window from some chap on one of the forums who also modded his CM690II.

The main window will be cut so that it lines up with the mid-plate, the second largest window will show of the pump area and the smallest window will show off the Mass Effect logo that will be stuck onto the white acrylic covering the drive bay area.

To go with this Mass Effect themed build I decided to mod a couple of Xbox 360 controllers I had so that they were also mass effect themed. I bought a new white faceplate and additional white buttons and then went about changing the colour scheme of both controllers. I got some custom ME3 stickers mad to fit on the controllers and I am very happy with the final result.

And this is the case and controllers together

Hey mate :)

The build looks fantastic, I was just wondering if you don't mind me asking?

What kind of temps are you getting? cpu and on both of the gpu's? :p

And what kind of overclock have you got on them?

Taking some inspiration from this build while making mine. :D

Everything idles at around 32 deg and on load goes upto to 50 deg. I have the fans on low when im just using it generally then ramp them up when im gaming.

Cpu is at 4.8 ghz and the 2 570's are stock, but they are the supercloaked versions so they are already overclocked a bit. I have never botherd to over clock them further as they easily play everything fully maxed out even with 3d vision turned on.

Glad your taking inspiration, as i have taken inspiration from other peoples builds so its nice to return the favour :)
