Well, the mini is one step closer to completion. The doors, bonnet and boot have been sprayed up and baked ready for me to build and fit tommorow:D Adding to that I have fitted the fuel flexi pipes and it starts on the key pretty much every time. There is still a problem with it revving though, the ignition timing is off, i have no filter and just a manifold for the exhaust. It will rev to about 3000 and then just dies. It isnt what I initially thought which is that it is running lean as I lifted the jet quite far up and it still started and idled nicley, plus when you lift the float even marginally it makes the engine die. I lifted the jet a bit more and it seemed to like it so I recon the mixture is near enough. It seems to have a missfire SOMETIMES, which is frustrating but im guessing is down to dodgy points-easily fixed.
Anyhow I have decided to keep you guys up to date with the project from now on as it nears completion and I promise some pics of bonnet, boot and maybe doors fitted tommorow.

There is a manifold which gives enough back pressure to run the engine, I dont want a perfect set up but it should rev past 3500 odd rpm (im hoping for 7-7.5k). To be honest i think the combination of unset points, unset carb and some other problems (such as the missfire) is working as one to stop my engine working. I am going to have more of a fiddle today and hopefully I can sort her out a bit but that isnt critical for now and a loose set up will be fine until after the MOT when i can drive it and set it up propperly.

Sorry, no pics today:( But for those of you that are interested the doors are fitted with latches and door handles however no glass and the bonnet is on. It has transformed the car totally and the paint looks amazing:D
