Project Motor Racing (PMR)

I like the emphasis on non subscription, obviously a dig at others, but it all comes down to quality of the game and especially multiplayer after going from ACC to lmu am tempting to try this as lmu is going to start getting expensive with subs and dlc's

Just spotted this little red flag in the FAQ. If you look at the car classes currently announced 99% of them would be using a rolling start in real life. So much for realism.
Will Project Motor Racing allow rolling starts for races?

At release, all race starts in Project Motor Racing are standing racing starts. We think these are more dramatic and offer better racing for many of the car classes in the sim. We will, however, be offering IMSA-style rolling starts post-release.

I guess they'll be more of these on the way if Overtake have a preview copy. In summary handling/graphics/sound mostly good, several features missing, poor AI.

It’s basically early access

- no triple screen or VR support on launch
- “placeholder” AI that cant actually race and is just there for show
- cars unrealistically sliding on the track surface project cars style…. Eww.

The content interests me but thats about it. Graphics wise it looks nothing like the trailers... yeah I know I wasn't expecting that sort of fidelity but looking at the overtake_gg videos it looks worse then AMS2 which uses the older pcars engine. I currently have Iracing, LMU, rfactor2, AMS2, Raceroom and AC-EVO loaded on my pc and its currently hard to see this game joining them.

This looks like a complete disaster at the moment. Very poor performance, non existent AI, medicore graphics. No VR at launch.
Unless somehow the final product is completely different then the press releases then this is going to be a non buy for myself.

This should never have been released in its current state.
Its an early access game at best.

Give it a few months and hopefully a lot of the issues will be fixed but hold on to your money until then.

Was going to say it's ~£30 for base game or ~£45 for season pass edition on Loaded, but sounds like another racer to await updates before thinking about pulling the trigger.

Ian Bell involved = Won't be a proper sim and will promise a lot and fall way short

Id expect maybe 2 or 3 cars with half decent physics and then the other 100 or so cars being slop... like Project Cars !
if people only knew how dodgy and bad they were. wouldnt touch their games with a barge pole.

Not really something I've looked at but it is getting completely panned by the YouTubers I follow who are into racing - either gamers or real racing/pro drivers or both.

back in project cars one early in they had proper people testing the handling giving good feedback but they wouldnt listen most of the times. when i was testing we had the stig in there hamilton and more. i always remember giving feedback on a certain car i had driven. the person in charge said i didnt know what i was talking about and the stig corrected him saying hes right :p my mate also owned a car they was adding he gave feedback saying how the handling was wrong. again you dont know what you talking about lol. absolute clowns.
