Aka "MunChkiN" for short :)

Wall of words coming. It may help if you put the startwars opening music on to read.

After getting taken on as a teaching assisstant at a local comprehensive school (high school level-ish) ready for my ICT and Physics teaching degree, I thought Id make a little project for me and the students to take part in.
Basically its watercooling, but on an academic level it will be (for the physics kids) "The cooling properties vs flow rate of water and other compatible liquids" and (for the ICT kids) "The components of a computer". Also the ICT students will help build it during their lesson(s).
I have until the 20th of september to get this going, so time isnt exactly and issue :p.

Just found my old computer, which is an absolute heap, its only redeeming feature is the.......nope nothing :p

Specs:
- P4 3Ghz HT skt775 processor
- Some universal highstreet retailer mobo (E-Systems I think is the branding)
- 160GB IDE HDD
- IDE DVD RW
- 1GB DDR2 RAM

Cooling:
- 1x 92mm rear fan (I think it can take 120mm, but not sure)
- 1x extremely loud HSF

For now I will be keeping the main bits (CPU, mobo, HDD, etc...), but when its off the ground, I wouldnt mind upgrading it to the following.
Proposed specs:
- C2D/ Pentium dual core CPU
- Half decent overclockable mobo
- 2-4GB DDR3 (if the mobo will take DDR3)
- Small Sata HDD (probably 250GB)
- Cheap Sata DVDRW
- Low power dedicated GPU

Cooling:
- 1x Rad
- 1x 775 CPU block (whatever I can get my hands on really)
- 1x Large tube res or 1x bay res
- 2x pumps with different flow rates

Parts needed:
- 1x 775 CPU block -- Not bought
- 1x Rad (either 120, 140, 240) -- Not bought
- Tubing -- Not bought
- Fluid -- Not bought
- Pumps -- Not bought
- Res -- Not bought
- Fittings -- Not bought

Red rectangle is the rad
Green square is the CPU block
Blue sqaure is the Res/ Pump. I will be removing the HDD cage to fit them in.

Now this is a complete budget build, I get no funding from the shcool and Ive got very little funds to plumb into it (with car, daughter and of course my rig). If anyone has any spare parts they would be willing to donate, it would be much appreciated, Ill even etch your names into the case side panel so you will be remembered for eternity (or until the rig dies or I get told to move it). Once the experiment is completed, I will happily give you back the parts or I will put them on an auction site and all money goes to charity.
I will of course pay for postage if you want it.

**[I hope this isnt breaking any rules mods, if it is, inform me and I will put a new thread in the wanted section and delete this last section]**
