Welcome to my Project Log. This is my first proper build and I'm really excited. I haven't really got a budget, but I'm working on around £700/£800 in total with a decent gfx card.
I'm at Uni, and I just need a decent machine that I can do all my Uni work on, play some games etc...
So atm I'm looking around, but here's the spec I'm kinda after:
Processor: Intel Core i5 2500k
Mobo: Asus P8Z68-V
Ram: Corsair Vengeance 8Gb 1600Mhz
Case: Zalman Z9 Plus
PSU: OCZ ZS Series 750W
CPU Cooler: Gelid Tranquillo
Then just the usual DVD drive for now, I may get a Blu-Ray in the future
As for hard drive I'm still undecided. I have an un-used WD Elements 1tb, so I'm thinking of using the hard drive out of that for the time being. I've got a WD Caviar Blue on order from Amazon for £60 but it still isn't in stock, so I'm hoping I get that, or I may got a an SSD. Any opinions would be grateful, but I don't see the point in getting an SSD if it isn't going to make a huge difference.
I'm gonna leave the graphics card for the time being. I think the plan is to go for a 560Ti or a 570, but I don't wanna spend all of my cash in one lump sum, so I'd rather wait a while to begin with.
As of yet, I haven't got any parts, but I want to get them all slowly collected, over christmas. Got more fans to add to the case and some more lighting, but basically the plan is to just see how it goes along the way. I'd quite like to braid the cables, but for the time being I sharn't bother, may do afterwards
I'll be posting loads and loads of pics hopefully, and any good deals, offers or ideas/suggestions anyone can think of please do let me know.
Plan is to sort my desk out a bit too. I'll post some pics up of my desk once I get it cleaned up, and then I'll post changes I make as I work my way through. *Got some goodies coming for christmas etc*
