Thought id try and keep it all in one thread rather than keep making new ones.
I ordered all my bits from overclockers after much debating as to what i should buy.

Ordered it about 3:30-4pm, and it arrived 10:15am the next day!!!

^^^ this concerned me, that the chip is inside that grey square above, and hardly protected, so easily squashed... intel should work on the packaging more!!!

build4.JPG

Lots and lots of goodies, feels like christmas.

build5.JPG

I did not realise just how big this mofo would be!!!

build6.JPG

Corsair was packaged really well and in its own seperate bag etc.

build7.JPG

Inserted ram to 1,3 and 6 as per motherboard instructions.

build8.JPG

The fenrir is absolutely huge!!!

build9.JPG

Getting the last 2 motherboard screws in was a nightmare with the fenrir being so massive... finally got it in with a bit of juggling....

Build went well, 2 things that would have speeded it all up was not dropping the jumper from the hdd in the case behind the motherboard, and not dropping a screw which rolled behind the motherboard and into the case... was a nightmare having to play a game of rolling the case about til the screw fell out a tiny hole... my arms were knackered afterwards.

The build quality of all the parts is great, the fenrir was easy to instal, the case is build well and quite solid, the motherboard looks fantastic and everything just feels well built.. the corsair is completely silent as well once the case door is shut... the only noise now comes from the gpu fan whish isnt 'too' bad... and the fenrir... which although it says the fenrir is silent on the box, this is a lie... its not silent at all.

My temps looks good as far as im aware... currently 30 degrees on idle, fan at 2280rpm and only the rear case fan on... gets a bit noisy with 3 other 120mm fans going.

Going to overclock it but have no idea what to do yet, ive installed cpu-z, gpu-z and speed fan. the bios is good and has lots of features, just need to work out what to do.

cpu - 920 i7
gpu - 1gb dark night 4870
mb - asus p6t pro
ram 6gb ocz gold 1333, says in cpu-7 its at 533 mhz

hopefully some of you could advise on what to do next :)

HA! nah im on a budget at the moment! was a case of go for the most expensive dual core, or get the cheapest newer quad, so i went the cheap quad route as i can upgrade easier at a later date.

one proob is the corsair position, being at the bottom maybe good for heat but the cables are at a bit of a stretch so i cant tuck things away as neatly as i would like to.
i might fabricate a panel from the old antec case ive got here to hide all the cables.

Thats the other side of the case, I will look into the cable extenders, but i'll need to drill into the case and cut it i think you be able to feed the wires about properly.

wasn't 'too' expensive... luckily i have an interest free credit card that just had a big lump sum from overclockers added to it lol

Doing a stress test now and im getting 84c temps on load, im wondering if this is high and i should have put more paste on the cooler.. idle is around 39...

this is with front case fan, rear, top fan, and cpu cooler...

fledge, thats with the side panel off lol

spitzoid, thats my works jacket, i work on transport system.

RJC cheers fella, just gotta get it running properly now! :)

ok i have another problem with the pc.

if i switch it off, and leave it for a while, whhen i hit power nothing happens... i have to switch it off at the mains and wait for all power to drain out the m/b before i can boot it up... any ideas what the problem is?

Nice spec and pictures. :)

What's your cpu temps when playing games using the fenrir cooler? also how much did it all cost?

no idea mate, not played a game yet, cant get it to work properly :(
cost about £850 in total without a monitor.

My pc is now totally dead... ive unplugged it, waited for power light to go out then switched it all back on again and its still dead... wont boot at all :(

edit, at 4ghz temps are 39 on idle at 85 at stress but only done one stress test so far as my bios doesnt seem to be the right one according to the manual.
