nothing.

got a red light on the mb with power button and a green reset button, press anything and nothing happens.

ive switched it off at mains for about 5 mins now and switched it all back on and still nothing :(

it did it earlier and i was going to make a post but it all started working again so i thought nothing of it... maybe my motherboard is faulty?

cant see it being the psu as power is getting to the board and it was working fine earlier.

Yeah seems more motherboard related if you getting those lights seems like a RMA job sadly. :(

Similar has happened to me before and it turned out to be motherboard hope it's solved.

I would RMA both to be on the safeside.

cheers mate.
im gutted though as i thought this would be a really easy build, went along with what i was advised to get and its being a bit of a pain. i know its just niggly things but i sooooo wanted to get going on this machine lol.

I'll fire off an email to oc and see what they say, lucky i kept all the boxes just in case!

Absolutely gutting when that happens, unfortunately one of the problems with build-your-own is that you're the one doing the quality checking.

ok i left it unplugged overnight, and now its working... i'll see if becomes a problem again tonight, maybe something is loose on the m/b ive rechecked all connections and everything seems fine so we'll have to see.

im a bit confused how to update bios though.
im using windows 7 64 bit and cannot install asus update manager so im doing it via bios itself...

in ez flash i have a usb stick with the latest bios patch on it... i select the drive, but the file is not there... any ideas how i can get this bios to update?

is there a 64 bit asus update manager i can install? as i cant find one if there is...

Edit:

managed to get parts of the cd working... part of the bios problem is with windows 7... because you cant run the cd, it doesnt update the settings, but ive found a few bits that will run and its updated enough of the bios to get it running correctly.

Im going to run the overclock and see what it runs at.
