After several weeks of top notch thinking I've gone with the Coolermaster ATCS 840.

Why?
It's big, room for almosty anything i can throw at it.
And i love the design.
Simplicity.

Now i was originally going to be doing a build log, i have some pictures but never got round to it, as you do. So i'll just give the the beast first in hand!

A quick comparison for its sheer amount of size, compared to my Antec 900 chassis.

A quick shot of all my parts Just after they got Powder coated.
Orange - Exterior (several internal bits), Matt Black - Interior.
Yes all this for £20, even including a colour swap.

I managed to get a Stanley rivet gun off 'the bay' for a couple of quid, Which made putting all this back a doddle.

Several images of me buuilding it up.

And the finished beauty.

There was a few glitches such as:
  • one or two of the rivets slightly push the side panels out, which im going to file down
  • The removable motherboard tray didnt push in as smooth as it did. maybe the Coating build up a bit too much. Moving it in and out a lot of times, made this smoother. I'm going to be investing in a tub or grease soon for it.
  • I should've used small rivets, i used 3.2x10mm throughout, as you can see too much is sticking out, which gets in the way of the fan filter. Ideally should've gone for 3.2x5mm i'd say.

Now tell me what you think, im very pleased with how its turned out tbh.
The colour looks amazing, shinier than i thought tbh. :D

Future additions:
  • I forgot to mention some of the paint wasn't as good as it couldve been on the small front panel (pic inc), so i may cut a square window out of here, which would allow better intake for the fan also.
  • Decals, Decals, Decals, maybe. I basically work as a Large format printer so i have all the equipment and knowledge ill need.
  • Cable management. When i get all my parts back from the manufacturer.
  • Extra Parts?
  • hardware mods possibly, as i havnt tested it out yet with my motherboard.
  • Lighting with cathodes/LED's for the front small panel to glow outwards.
  • Window Mod possibly? a lot of masking tape, careful measurements and it should all look clean with abit of rubber gromet on the edges.

£20!

I do like the orange and black - shame about the rivets.
Are you continuing the theme inside?

Ah yer i forgot to add that, ill be braiding all cables etc and painting as much as i can in this theme.

I may re-do some rivets, infact i probably will do.
Although like everything, all major parts will be on hold due to finance.

I really love orange and black, think those will be my colours of choice when i make my own custom case.

Really looks nice :)

Yea, you got a bargain there for £20!! Looks great!!

What components you got going in there? And what cooling you using? Air or water? Looks good though, hope it all goes to plan! :)

I've got the same case and it is very simple and sexy. I absolutely love the colour scheme you gave it. Really does brighten it up and it will look amazing with the parts in. I couldn't imagine a side window on the case at all, though. When I imagine it it really doesn't look right, but I'm probably too used to it without the window.

I will keep an eye on your progress. Good job so far!
