Project: RB

Missed this going forward but just had a quick gander through

Very nice work, and nice photography.

Love the backdrop you use, what is it and where'd you get it?

My dad used it for signage - it's just foam board with a gloss white front..

No idea where he got it from though :(

what no mdpc sleeve???!!!! j/k the stock cougar stuff does look pretty nice. good job on the paint

lol, I have 100m of sleeve here, so I may well end up sleeving it, but everyone does that these days...

Apologies once again for the lack of updates. I've been away on holiday then working hard on reviewing, so there isn't too much to see this update. Things are moving forward though, I've bought a stack load of extra hardware - a second 5870 + waterblock and various other smaller bits and pieces.

Anyway, I've started mounting everything up in preparation for the final install (not too far away now).

I'm hoping to have an update soonish, with some properly taken photos in the studio, which will hopefully show all the watercooled components and with any luck the initial install..

Been patiently waiting for an update and to see that panel lit up!!! I'm trying hard not to bug you but I wanna see this!!!

well.... Funny you should say that, as it wouldn't be too hard to get the case out and give it a try....

edit-

There's a picture of it lit above - I don't want to remove the protective layer just yet, so Im afraid you'll have to wait a week or two for some final, lit shots.

Exciting day today - I started the final install. The final parts (or so I thought) arrived today so I got cracking on the build. The pictures speak for themselves really. They don't quite portray just how tight a fit everything is - every mm is being used!

All the cabling etc will go under the false floor. The rest of the parts should arrive monday... exciting times!

Looking amazing tek, just ordered the Pioneer VSX-1120-k for my home theater, and its time for a new "Media Mod". Thanks for the inspiration!!! Really like the reciever size of the case your going at, would you recommend anything else that style?

Cheers for the comments :)

Errm, depends on what you're looking for. I really like this case as it's able to fit in full sized components, but if you're ok using mATX and stuff then there is another Lian Li case similar to this but a bit smaller which looks pretty good...

got some more work done today - Im just waiting for some parts to arrive so I can attach the front rad then I can fill 'er up!

False floor is finally in too - wiring inside the case isn't great as everything is in so tightly, but it'll do for now..

What do you all think?

Once again, thanks to Aquatuning for sponsoring this build.

99% Complete pictures are here!!!!

Having bust a gut today, I managed to get my rig all up and running. It's running nice and quietly, with load temperatures low and stable. Im going to do some more tweaking and then Ill post some screenshots.

Anyway, enough talking, here are the pics (need to mesh round the front fans):

Ill do some proper pictures in my photo setup when I have the time, and when I've completed the final touches. Feedback welcome!

Nice!
What size are those 90 degree compression fittings? Are they EK or bitspower?

They're 3/8" alphacool fittings - I'm really impressed with the quality of them and they're not that expensive. The only thing that's annoying is the thread to attach them to the blocks is really thin, so it's quite hard to get them on tight.

This looks stunning! (I think)

The pictures that show the whole PC as one really do look good as do the details, I say I think originally because there aren't many pictures of the whole thing finished rather than parts or the finished image!

Ill try and get some more overall pictures for the next update :)

**** looks awesome great job!

Cheers!

For those of you wondering how it performs, here we are..

CPU is at 3.6ghz and the fans are throttled right back - they're on about 8v when this was taken:

NB temps are a tad hot, but I think it's just because the liquid temperature has risen to the point where everything is pretty much as the same temperature.

Im going to try a run at 100% fan speed see where that gets me...
