Well this is my 1st ever build and it is a very simple no frills affair I'm afraid. I wanted to build a quiet pc for general use with the option to expand for future gaming.

Component parts:

  • Antec mini P180 case
  • Asus M4A88TD-M EVO/USB 3
  • Corsair CMX3 4GB
  • AMD Phenom II X2 (unlocked to X4)
  • Coolermaster silent pro 500W modular PSU
  • Samsung F3 500GB HDD
  • Samsung DVD-RW
  • Thermalright true black 120
  • Sharkoon silet eagle 2000 x 4
  • NZXT sentry LXE external fan controller
  • Wacom bamboo mte-450

Parts that I need:

  • 1 more sharkoon silent eagle
  • Monitor
  • Sleeving/heatshrink

I will get some more pictures up when I have done the braiding/tidied the cables. I'll also get some pictures up of the fan controller, graphics tablet and monitor.

I didn't take any pictures of the case but this is what the internals look like fresh out the box

You are seriously calling this stealth with 4x 2000 rpm fans installed? I'm sure the fans are good but they must be noticeable in the next room at that speed. That NZXT controller needs to work on those fans for it to realise the name!

Looks like a good first build though.

Good try for a first build. How do you find the fans? I've got a couple but they are a bit noisy when cranked up.

Yeah when at full speed they are noisy, which is why I got the fan controller ;)

The fan controller is exellent, I am sitting right next to it and I can't hear it. The thing is like having air conditioning, the air coming out the top is so cold it's ridiculous and I'm getting temps of 18'C inside the case.

Fan controllers do rock :)

LOL at the air conditioning quote, that would be because its not doing anything to get it hot in there, looks like onboard gfx and nothing overclocked (yet)

At stock/idle with a good case and lots of fans it should be chilly in there! :D

:D I want to start overclocking I'm just reading up on it before I begin. I managed to get the extra cores unlocked by flicking a switch on my mobo so I'm getting there :p
Oh and here's a vid to show how loud the fans are at full speed

Mine must be getting old they sound whiney when I crank them up.

Video starts with controller on minimum, then full, then back down to minimum

That doesn't sound too bad. Although an unrestricted fan will sound better than one that has a grille or filter in front of it.

That may be down to mesh throwing some resonance and vibration into the mix, it seems to be quite restrictive from the video.

where do you live? norway?

:D I'm from somewhere colder than norway... The U.K!

Would it not be better to turn the heatsink 90 degrees so you have a nice airflow from from to back of the case? Unless there isnt space to do this?

You can only mount it one way with the bracket it came with. I will be getting another bracket so I can rotate it.
