Right as you can see by the resent warm weather my PC room has already reached an ambient temp of 22'c, so l got up this morning and decided to do as the title says as every one was out, so it was nice and quiet so no interruptions. So first things first made a pot of coffee as l had been up all night chatting to setter, JeffyB, plus one or to others in the forum which made my john smiths go down nice and easy lol, had a quick cup then sorted out everything necessary for the job. 1st thing l did was clean the Rad and added x3 Xilence 1300rpm fans to push for the hotter weather this summer, one mod was to replace the brackets which holds my XSPC D750 Res:Pump~Combo with better ones, you'll notice the angle brackets have foam strips in them to soak up what little vibration the pump has and you'll agree they look far better will get some black paint to make them blend into the case. The 2nd mod if you can call it that is to replace the tie raps with blue ones to contrast the black cables, now its spring clean time filters 1st them brush every thing inside to lossen the dust especially in tight places before l give it a good going over with my little electric air pumps, it cost £12 with delivery and it pays for it self in no time as we have 3 PC's in the housese hold, all together it took a couple of hours due to stopping and having a coffee.

I took a couple of photos as l went alone, well it looks like its going to be another nice day its already 21'c in my PC room, get your brush and airduster out and clean that case.

Pic 1- my case the FTO1.

Pic 2- showing old bracket botton left, withe new brakets just put into place so l can mark how they go.

Pic 3- showing the new brackets with white foam for any vibrations, the old brackets look naff compered to th new ones.

Pic 4- 2 brackets mounted in place, just two to go, these new brackets will look better when painted black.

Pic 5- The finished job, note the extra fans in place push pull config better temps, well you must admit its clean and tidy for another 3-4 months.

Oldphart, think you have linked directly to the thumbnails so the images are insanely tiny and do nothing when you click them. Be interested to see the pictures in more detail as my setup is similar to yours. FT01 + triple rad on the back and 750 res/pump combo :)

Does look pretty clean and tidy though. How much of a change in temps did the extra fans create? What kind of screws are you using to hold all them fans and shrouds? Final question lol, where did you get the brackets? Im planning to do a rebuild/big clean on mine in a couple of months when I finish Uni and im going to move the res/pump out of the drive bays as I need the space for new drives. Im hoping it will make it quieter too as the vibration is quite audible on mine in the drive bays

Hi Alufc, sorry about the pics, l have resized them as you can see far better lol, the extra fans Xilence 1300rpm that l put on in push so l have a push pull config + home made shrouds on the Vipers about 2'c as they were spare and l so saved me from buying Vipers. The shrouds were home made form the cheapest x3-120mm fans l could find just under £6 free p&P, just cut the supporting arms off and tidy then up, beats paying about £8 for one shroud. ;)

The bolts l got of fleabay M4x55MM = x20-£2.98 / M4x35MM = x20-£2.98 free P&P, the bolts are stainless steel they take the weight no problem l got black, lol try and bend one with your hands. The brackets are from Wickes DIY = Flang Brackets x4 = £3.48 + the one sided fom backed tape comes under > Rubber Foam Draught Excluders = £4.28.

Hope that helps you ALUFC. :)

Hi Devrij + Nevakonaza,

To Dev the fan is on a bracket it helps cool the NB as they can get a bit toasty but the NB can take the heat with out the fan as its designed for that job. :)

To Nev its a 360 Rad thats x3 single 120mm Rads together, l put the extra fans on for the summer temps, a push:pull config, but l will probably leave them on.
