Hey guys and girls,

Today I decided to start off what I call Project Triton. Why Triton do you ask? Well let me explain.

Triton is a Greek myth, mainly understood as the son of Poseidon who is know as "God of the Sea", what more fitting name could be used for what I like to think of as what will be an epic water cooled PC! Another influence for the name derives from a single released by DJ Korsakoff (The Torment of Triton).

Now lets get down to the specs, sponsors and some rough plans here.

Sponsors -

Enermax

Enermax kindly donated me a 700w Triathlor Modular PSU, 9 x 120mm PCG edition Vegas fans and 1 x 140mm Vegas fan (all blue LED).

Mayhems

Mayhems have kindly donated me 3 litres of Mayhems Pastel Sunset Yellow.

Spec

Intel i7 3770k @ 5GHz
MSI Z77 M-Power
16GB 1600mhz Avexir M-Power Ram
MSI 3GB 7970 Lightning
700w Enermax Triathlor Modular PSU
Asus D2X Sound Card
Corsair 900D Case
Custom Water Loop (Will go into more detail below)

XSPC Raystorm Block with Blue LED's
Masterkleer 1/2 3/4 19/13mm Tubing
Monsoon White Fittings
Monsoon Black 45+90 Degree Rotary Fittings
Monsoon White Res Screw Caps
Monsoon White Accent Disks for Rotary Fittings
XSPC DDC 1+ 18w Pump and Res Top
2 x 480mm Feser XTC Exchanger Radatiors
Res Undecided

Plans

My initial plans are to powder coat my Corsair 900D white (originally black) and to base the build on the MSI M-Power theme (Black/Yellow with Blue LED's).

I plan to change the finish on the radiators, they are one of the best 480mm rads on the market and are currently not in production anymore so took some time to track 2 down. I managed it, quite cheaply and they are in fantastic condition!

I plan to Sand, Primer, Coat, and Lacquer them to the finish I desire as i prefer a glossy as opposed to matte. I also plan to use and play around with radiator grills to highlight tones and colours.

The CPU and GPU will be water cooled, it remains to be seen if I decide to double up the pump's and use 2 but 1 should be powerful enough. I will be aiming for decent overclocks for the best possible gaming experience.

Plans can change at any moment so bear with me :)

Here are some pics to wet your whistles (mind the quality, I’m still learning PS and have some help from my friend Brendan who works with me at Vortez in editing).

Updates to follow as soon as more items arrive, I am also waiting for the Corsair 900D; it's a case of playing the waiting game!

Small update

Prepping for my radiators, some liquid soap, lint free cloths, spray mask so i'm not gassing myself out :D

oh and primer, white gloss and clear lacquer, radiators are going white now, decided i need to get things going and the plans on the move!

Tomorrow, i will illustrate the cables i had a company make for me :)

One of my rads out of the box, as you can see its in great condition, but i will be spraying them once prepped :D

Went outside to start sanding down the 1st rad, using 400grit wet/dry paper, it started to snow.....so had to come inside, did it and thought wow its going to take ages

Decided to order a Dremel 3000 and will use that to sand them down, a lot quicker and more efficient!

Another update, sold my 7970 lightning and ordered 2 x MSI 7950 twin frozr 3's from OCUK (obviously :D) to beef it up a little

will be adding a 3rd before the end of the project, just need 3 x water blocks for them!

Dremel arrives tomorrow, but look what arrived this morning

Time to run driver sweeper and test/install them :)

Sounds like an interesting build, i'll keep watching the progress.

Didn't the 900D get put back a few months, if so i presume you knew this, so obviously not a rush job building this project. :)

Yeah which i'm gutted about, but gives me more time to get more money together to make it even better :p

Ready to be given a little hand sand

Obviously got a little more work to do on them, the Dremel is a god send and recommend them!

Now i have to rinse and repeat with the other radiator, should be ready for its first coat of primer either tonight or tomorrow :)

One rad has been given a coat of primer, while i dremel sand the other rad, soon as its dry, will sand it smooth and go for my final coat later tonight

then its rad 2's time to get sprayed!

pics incoming soon :)

Resprayed one side so far after sanding it down a little

Radrespray_zps3cd8a999.jpg

As you can see the finish is coming up now, when its dry ill see how it is

then i shall do the other side, then start work on the other radiator!

Looking good. More pic's needed :)

Will do

Small update

Weather has held me back from lacquering the radiators so slight delay on that, still deciding on the final hardware configuration of the build etc. Also wish Corsair would hurry up with the 900D so i can start doing some internal planning/measurements etc

Although will update with a few pics tonight hopefully
