I previously built this:

http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18591026

I then improved it slightly with H100i and was happy with the final look and performance:

I have now decided to start a new project, this is a work in progress and due to my daughter (such an inconvenience ;) ) being born soon ill have to complete the build over the next 2 months.

I really wanted a performance increase as previously i was using a APU and have now decided to change all that:

Parts:

CPU i5 4690K Devils Canyon

I needed something with a bit more power not only for gaming but video editing, photo editing etc. I also didnt want to go X99 just yet (1. the price and 2. the restrictions on colors and memory).

Gigabyte Sniper G1 M5 MATX

This board provides what i need, overclocking facility, amazing onboard sound, Micro Atx and black and green :)

8 Gig Avexir RAM 2133mhz

I dont like overclocking RAM, there is no point unless your benching and 2133mhz hits the spot. I also wont need over 8 gig for now and i have the ability to upgrade when needed. The nice touch obviously about this RAM is the green LED's that pulsate.

R9 290

When your talking bang for buck, surley nothing beats the 290. It competes and even beats the overpriced 290x and uses the same waterblock as the 290x ideal for me really. I have used Nvidia and had no qualms in using again however budget is tight on this build and i needed something cheap but powerful.

PSU 850w Seasonic Bronze

What else is there to say? Its ample power, enough connections to power 10 HDD's and very reliable. The price was a steal on OcUK at £79.99 i couldnt refuse to go with this.

The rest of the parts i wont go into much detail but I have 160gig SSD (pulled from a laptop still a quick drive), 2 TB HDD ideal for all those games and pictures etc.

I have yet to buy the case (It will be a black and green Parvum) and all of the watercooling.

I finally got around to testing the rig:

The performance.......INCREDIBLE! I will try to get some benchmarks up to show what this does at stock but im trying not to do too much until its underwater.

I recently purchased these:

UV acrylic tubing and some monsoon fittings....silly old me...the fittings dont work with acrylic tubing.

So that's where i am. I will be posting more pictures and the rest of the build blog once its complete and some benchmarks.

Little update:

Lots of fans and the case arrived and built.

Ill get some better pics when i start the watercooling.

The 120mm Bit Fenix fans wont be staying. Instead ill be using the 120mm UV green (same as rear 80mm ones).

I do love a good green and black build :D

Where are those cables from? The sleeving looks like the stuff from Axon Modding.

Here are some picture of the final build. I have white cathodes and UV cathodes so a bit messy but both can be switched off if needed. The end result i'm really please with:

Temps under load on CPU 60ish and GPU under load 40-50ish. Very happy with the look and performance.

Going to tweak the lighting and use LED's in time but at least you get a feel for it.

Hope you enjoy the pictures and feel free to critique and ask questions :)
