Well... after seeing the start of my WC build... the wifey has decided that she would like her own WC build. I over-ordered fittings and tubing for my build, so will have plenty left over for hers.

It's going to start with the main components that she already had, which used to be in our HTPC - but it's going to progress to 6800k & GTX 1060.

The main components will be:

Intel 3570k
Gigabyte Z77 motherboard
32GB (4x8GB) Kingston Hyper X Savage DDR3
ON-board GPU (for now)

Hardware Labs Black Ice Nemesis GTX 280
Corsair ML140 White LED
EK D5 XRES 140
EK Blue Coolant
EK Blue compression fittings
Phanteks Enthoo Evolv ATX Silver Tempered glass
EK Evo Supremacy Nickel

I bought a CPU block that will be usable with X99 too... for her upgrade further down the line... although she doesn't game, so the GTX1060 will be overkill.

Looking forward to another hard tubing build and will get piccies up of what should be a nice looking system.

Nice mate, I do love the look of that case in that colour... Seriously high end look and feel to it which is great to see from that price point.

Not the most comprehensive build log, but I finished putting it together today.

The new GPU came today, I couldn't watercool the RX460 properly as there are no blocks for them... so I decided to sell it and pick up a second hand card already with a waterblock attached - a GTX690

Looking very respectable mate. Love the tubing, it's one of my pet peeves when hard line is slanted and not perfectly straight. I'd imagine that's the hardest bit to get right but yeah, looks weird when the straight lines are broken up by one not perfectly straight.

Thanks :)

I know I could have done the GPU -> CPU tubing a bit better... I saw where I made the mistakes in marking up the position of the bends, so shouldn't make the same error next time. I was marking the tube in the places I wanted the bend to be, then I realised that those marks were where the bend should finish, rather than the middle bend - hence why the right bend and bend into the cpu are about one pipe width off.

I didn't feel like doing another tube to get it spot on and wifey is happy with it, so all good.

The radiator to pump in could also have been a little cleaner, but for some reason getting that little wiggle correct turned out to be a pain in the backside... so I left it as soon as I got one that fit properly :)

Still, I think it looks good, so I'm quite happy with it :D

GTX 690 is my fav card

Yeah, it's a great GPU... I had one when they were first released - was so impressed with the cooler design from Nvidia, it's *almost* a shame to watercool it :D

Fantastic price/performance ratio... checking 3DMark Firestrike scores... this PC is up there with the lower performing GTX1070 builds and the GPU only cost £110 including waterblock from someone on this forum :)
