No doubt there are a dozen threads about this which I've missed.

Project xCloud allows streaming of XBOX Live games onto Android phones and it's coming September 15 for a monthly fee.

My experience of XBOX live is a positive one and the thought of being able to stream those games onto my phone without needing an XBOX is interesting. Perhaps interesting enough that I'll stick with Android instead of switching to an iPhone this year.

I've seen a couple of nifty-looking controllers which attach to phones in various ways, making it easy to play properly without having to put up with on-screen controls. If the streaming works well, it could be a really positive addition to phone gaming.

Has anyone checked out xCloud and what do you think?

I have used it for a while now when in beta, not really noticed many issues, some blocking and stuttering. Just bought a jovich controller and phone holder and it works well

Yep - I've been playing with it since April.

Im really looking forward to the implementation on screen controls. Instead of being generic they will be dynamic depending on the game. Some games this will work really well for (Forza perhaps?)

Is it a step change in terms of Android gaming do you think? I find it really difficult to enjoy any mobile games, especially with IAP, so being able to play most of the XBox live library on my phone would be welcome.

I hear it uses up more than 2Gb/hour for streaming as well, so it would require a hefty data plan for anyone using it off wifi.

Apple being Apple and blocking this from the Appstore is a bum move as well. I guess they don't want competition for Apple Arcade, which is probably aimed at a different audience anyway.

I'm not a big "mobile" gamer.

But, I think there are some game that will really suit this format. Slay the Spire is one of those for sure. Think I've found playing Destiny 2, the input lag is too great. I really need to try a wired solution as I find Bluetooth on my PC introduces too much lag anyway! ~
