Hi i am just thinking of buying a 3d projector i can only find 3d ready what would i need to make it 3d and is there any specific projectors or extras i need to look for cheers.

Mate jyst buy the W1070! All.you need is glasses. If you can fit a fixed screen message me and I will tell you something you can make in 5 minutes and be as good as any £500 screen. Dont buy any of the projectors listed, they arent a patch on the W1070..... 3D is off the charts good!

Jumping on this thread to ask what the 5minute job is? Happy to have a little project!

Trust message sent ;)

+1 for this Benq W1070
Im buying this for my not so big 4Mx3M room. Just undecided on a screen.

Guys trust me when I say this if you follow this simple guide you will have a screen as flat and as sharp as any screen you can buy. Been buying screens and projectors for years and have two cinema setups in my pad.

All you need to do is buy a peice of "White MDF"

3mm MDF is fine... All you do is nail it to your wall every 5" around the border, then simply paint a black matte border or even buy black velcro to cover the nail heads.

I would also paint it grey! Just use a small gloss roller 2x coats. Especially if your sensible enought to buy the W1070 which is my complete bedroom setup and works better with a grey screen.

All in will cost you about £40 and you will have a screen as good as you can buy. The surfice is utter flat and projects every single pixel with complete sharpness! Better than anything I have ever seen even in a demo room

:)

Throw some pics up on here mate of your screen, shows us what were missing :)

This is 8x4m White MDF screen. You will notice it doesnt fill the screen with a.16.9 image. All I did was paint it at the sides the same colour as my back wall and it blends in, especially only being 3mm thick

Note this picture was before I painted it and picture is from my phone.

If you buy that projector then go for this diy screen mate, but make your you paint it grey. I can let you know the paint I used when I am home. Also would defo buy a Hoya ND2 filter which will improve the blacks even further and compliment the grey screen. You will now have a image on screen that is thousands above its price. Buy some Truedepth 3D glasses from the USA and you have hit the jackpot as they are stunning.

3D with this setup is unreal and made me a fan :)
