Projector advice

Hi, I’m thinking of getting a projector.

I’ll likely be using it in a non treated (cream walls) room with total light control (blackout blinds etc).

Im looking at older models like

jvc x30
Sony hw40
Sony hw55


Given my room conditions, can anyone give me a decent reccomendation on what models to look out for on the second hand market ?


I will be gaming on it so I heard the Jvc is not smart for that and I need it to be whisper quiet too as I have noise based ocd.

JVC X35.

DiLA from JVC has better blacks than Sony SXRD. The X35 offers some useful improvements over the X30 before it.

If you prefer Sony then go for the HW55 out of the two you listed.

Thanks mate. Sadly I can't find a second hand X35 nor a HW55.. Might be forced to get the H40 unless someone can help me out!

im turned off of old JVC due to the crazy input lag but if i like pjs, i will consider a JVC 4k next year as an upgrade cos they've fixed the issue at last.

Do you have much PJ experience? It'll be projected for now just onto a wall, later a screen.. never in a treated room.
