keeps getting worse... i have one strip where black is actually black and the rest is green... i'll post a pic when it gets dark... im just over 2000 hours on a 4000 hour bulb?

To be honest the bulbs dont always last as long as they say, at my college a 300 hour bulb some times lasts that long or others less but then they are cheaper bulbs so perhapse not with yours.

2000 hours is good going to be honest. :)

4000 hours is in totally optimum conditions, brightness set as low as possible etc.

It maybe the bulb but the symptoms don't sound like what I would expect from a dying bulb. How quickly did the problem arise and has the projector had any damage? Bulb faliure usually results in a dimmer picture and/ or flickering.

This sounds like it could be the polarisers

Im going to say this needs an optical clean.

We have over 20 projectors at work and if the filters aint cleaned every so often we see the image slowly starting to fade and change colour. Mainly a green tint.

well it started at about 400hours and has only got a little worse with time nothing major just slightly worse.. pic...

You can see that on the right hand side where the projected image stops. its black.. and the further you get to the middle the greener it gets.

EDIT: Image shack isnt resizing pictures properly.
