What colour should I be painting my projector wall I put a mist coat on yesterday and have brilliant white and magnolia here.

In my last house I used a wall for a projector, the wall appeared perfectly smooth.

But, the projector show up every imperfection of the wall, I solved the problem by buying a sheet 3MM WHITE FACED MDF 1220X2440 cost about £8:00p & screwing it to the wall.

You could also use 10'x5' 4mm or 6mm mdf & painted, giving you a very smooth surface.

See this link: http://www.avforums.com/forums/projector-screens/673357-paints-brews-mixes-iii.html

You can now buy projector screen paint, specially formulated for projectors to give higher contrast & more clarity.

I use Dulux greysteel 3 paint. It's basically white, but with a tint of grey. Against a pure white wall, it absorbs a lot of reflections and was massively better than pure white for contrast ratios.

To echo the advice above - projecting onto a wall is generally far from ideal as you will see every little bump, etc. shown up plainly and most projectors work best with a slight grey color.

I'd reccomend getting a proper screen tbh even if its a cheapy one.

cheers looks like I'm done the paint shop next week for some grey.

not keen on the screen the room is pretty small and low I need as much space as I can get

Just had the time to read up on the Dulux paint, I see they do a Dulux greysteel 3 & Dulux greysteel 4 which is a little lighter in shade.

So, I'm going to get a Dulux tester pot of each colour first, & see which is best.

Thanks Mr_Sukebe for that recommendation.

I did exactly that, i.e. a tester pot. BTW, my recommendation is that you use it on not just the screen area, but also the walls around it. For me, helped reduce reflections from other surfaces, further helping the IQ.
