Projector: what is smallest screen to make it worth it?

I have slopping ceilings and measuring what will fit seems like i can only get an 82" screen

how small a screen becomes a point where you say, its just not worth having a projector vs a TV ?

projecting on to a cream wall, will it work ?

Well I still have a 42'' plasma so the jump would be the same

If I project on to the wall I would get a slightly larger image so might try that first

I read there is some paint you can use, if anyone has any info on that would be appreciated

it will be a dark room when watching and im happy to repaint the wall, just wanted actual peoples experiences of it rather than just random google

will be about 9ft back and it sounds like 82" with a screen or touch bigger without will be perfect.
