Projects you'll never get round to...

Not a car, but I have a desire to convert a trusty old VFR400 NC30 from carbs to fuel injection, and preferably then add either turbo or supercharger to it, although god knows where I'd put either of those there isn't exactly much room :p

On the car side, I'd love to just 'restore' my mk1 mr2, fix all the rust, respray in gumetal grey, suspension/arb upgrade, shiney brake conversion up front and then either a completely mad, and insanely expensive/unsuitable, 4AGE engine (in formula atlantic spec thats ~240bhp at ~14,000rpm from an NA 1.6l 4-pot, guessing that's not quite suitable for road use though :p) or one of the 2l turbo/3l v6 conversions, which are far more suitable :)

I'd like to buy an old American muscle car, nothing too expensive or hard to get bits for, something like an El Camino or a second gen Firebird ...and restore it to it's original glory.

I've got loads of ideas but not enough time;

1. If i was mad i'd fit an S4 + 4wd running gear to my Passat and tune it to 500+ BHP
2. Build a space frame car from the ground up
3. Restore a classic car (something like a 911)
4. Restore a dodge charger
5. Build a kitcar, something like a high quality Countach replica

I've got loads more smaller plans but CBA to list them.

Not as much power and a harder to tune engine, the S4 lump + 4wd upgrade is only really an option if you already have a 4motion Passat, the rear floorpan of the fwd model is different and won't allow for the mounting of the different rear suspension setup + diff.

Mind saying that it can be done with a fwd model, guy in Russia did it, you "just" need to cut the rear floor out and fab up the suspension turrets and diff mounts.

Much cheaper to buy an S4, but then it wouldn't be a project i would never do :p

I'd be happy to work on anything, I just need the space and a little extra income.

Now I have the MX5, a 13B (to keep it in the family) conversion would be interesting to do. F20C would be the extreme option but it has been done already.

In the real world getting the chassis (suspension, bracing etc), wheels and throwing some FI on it would be ample fix of modding. Sadly in the real world I'll never earn enough to truly enjoy cars because I'm a thick ****.
