Prolimatech Megahalems ?

If you go on to prolimatech's website they have some dimensioned drawings. Measure up inside your case and you will have your answer!

Defiantly worth it if you can fit it in, paired with an akaska apache or two and you’re on to a winner!

yes it fits, mine has a custom fan ( already built), i've just got to work out how to attach it

ok it arrived today, it's quite heavy and fairly large BUT:-

does the fan touch/ interfere with the Ram ( ATHLON CPU), the top of my fan is directly inline with the top plate of the cooler...it does not overhang the top, this means the bottom of the fan hangs lower down, than if i used the retention clips.

because compared to my existing rig, it looks like it touches the Ram

but from this photo it looks like the RAM is behind the fan, which means that my standard Athlon cooler is wider at the base, because that overhangs!

i've already lapped it, i didn't go crazy; i just lapped off the plating

what mobo is that?

not sure...but i think it blocks a couple of RAM slots, which means i'm limited to the amount of RAM i can use...no, i want the air forced through the grills and then sucked out the exhaust............... i'm a bit fed up about this!

i wouldn't say the cooler is that large..... it's the designers of the MOBO that have made the **** up, because the RAM is too close; even with the standard AMD cooler..

on a positive note, the cooler does look very impressive

You can mount the HSF in other ways than the one shown in that image in the first post..

That mobo in the pic would be the Gigabyte EX58 Extreme.

::edit::

I would hazard a guess to say that if you were using this on an AMD motherboard that it would definitely block the first RAM slot if you fitted it the same way as shown in the pic above.

yea, but i want it facing west east

Got one today seems much better than the Noctua it replaced, more heatpipes etc.

plus it's directly in line with the upper intake fan and not far away, so it should run very cool, the lower fan is in line with the underside of the PCI..

Im sure i read in a review that the bases on these are designed to be slightly curved and lapping isnt recommended. Might be thinking of something else though.

mine was curved too; in fact, the curve was quite large.............ohhh, never mind....as long as it's flat on the CPU it'll work fine, plus the thermal paste will fill any voids.
