Finally got round to installing the Prolimatech super mega cooler. Been using a lapped TRUE black on my i7 rig for a year or so now. Installation was a breeze, very good backplate compared to the Thermalright 1366 bracket, and the finish on the base is extremey good. Also had no issues with ram slots being blocked, however if i do add another 6gb of ocz reaper, the fan clips wil touch the ram heatsinks. Ran p95 small fft to check for temps, fans used on both coolers were Akasa vipers in push/pull, arctic MX3 thermal paste on the cpu.

Load temps overclocked p95.

TRUE black, (lapped to 2000 grit).

Not much difference tbh, i suspect an unlapped TRUE would probably run a few C higher.

That's nice temps you get....i am surprised how well the TRUE performs compared.

Just quick question Setter, sorry for being offtopic but is IOH voltage for 4ghz fine to keep on auto or should it be around 1.2v?

Also you keeping the Super Mega?:p i love the backplate too on my Megahalems as it keeps it well in place very easily.

Cheers Sycho, id say my TRUE being lapped certainly helps, the base on it was extremely poor when i got it. I did a quick run on LinX this evening, the mega was able to keep the cpu 3-4c lower than the TRUE ever did. For IOH i have 1.200 set, dont like leaving too many voltages on auto, as asus boards have a reputation for overvolting if left on auto. I think ill definitely keep the mega, just gotta decide what to do with my TRUE.

Lol, thats one idea. Definitely been a great purchase, cooled a 3.8ghz Q6600, A 3.8ghz Q9550 and my i7 at 4ghz, seems like a bargain now and i paid £50.00 for it at the time. But when i first got it, it wasnt great tbh, the base was very uneven and had quite a few machine marks, had to lap it quite a bit to improve it. Thought the prolimatech might have been a bit better, but then comparing it to a lapped cooler may not be the best comparison.
