Well I loathed the first film, though the more I read up on it I can possibly see where the strands can be pulled together, but reading the link I'm actually dating to be a little hopeful. Scott abandoning all his bull**** and admitting it's an Alien prequel and actually commuting to closing the loop with the next 1-2 films is a pretty great thing.

Never thought I would say this after the travesty of to first but I have some hope. Ditching the god awful script writer and going back to the original is also good to see, he contributed to the first film **** up.

2017 release as well! Here's hoping!

I enjoyed Prometheus to be honest.

yes it was a bit silly in places but that is sci-fi for you.

I couldn't stand it at first but when you read up a lot of the dumb **** begins to make a little.

The only unforgivable element was the woman running in a straight line away from the huge ship at the end when a quick hop, skip and jump to the side would keep her alive :p

1 or 2 sequels both properly titled; Alien: Paradise Lost and rumoured Alien: Engineers

My biggest gripe was the farcical attempt at separating it from Alien mythos after the initial panning it got by fans, the fact that they are committing to closing out the story has me completely back onboard.

I think when you read around it the story really comes into its own a da th is a very clever story and does some real justice to the original films.

However the fact I had to spend an hour reading up yo actually understand what the hell the film was trying to convey speaks volumes about the quality of the script and direction that a great idea translated into a largely confusing abortion on screen.

For those hating it (and I was one of the biggest haters at first) read the link, it's the post for the same guy ignore the other guff

Reading that then watching it again the film is so much better. It is still farcical you have to do so much reading to understand, the film should have captured this stuff a lot better and found a way to portray it, but it turns a steaming pile into a good film.

It made about 405 million in the box office which would be a large reason as to why they made a second one, I don't think a title particularly matters, the fact the first was called Prometheus and not alien......... Is the stranger part.

Watch it with that in mind and it really makes more sense and as such is more enjoyable, that's my opinion anyway :) as I say I don't like the film but I kind of have hope it can now go places.

We'll see :) looking forward to more info coming available.

Apparently the title of this film has now been changed to 'Alien: Covenant.'

Apparently they've also hired 'Spectre' writer John Logan, to make sense of this film. So another re-write of someone else's work, just as Prometheus was? Doesn't bode well.

These muppets never learn; just repeating the same mistakes over and over.

Oh dear :p

I do hope they tie in Prometheus properly and make it all work but I have huge doubts and zero expectation after the tragic experience of Prometheus.
