I am really struggling with this card right now. My problem is that I just can't seem to load an OS on any drive with this card in place. I had hoped to use the mainboards own sata controller for the OS drive, and then use the promise controller for 16 750GB drives, but as soon as the card is in the machine it hangs after post, rather than booting from the DVD to load the OS. I have tried tne DVD drive and sata hdd as IDE, ACHI and RAID.
I have tried it on two different mainboards now and both the same, I did manage to get it to load Windows 7 when there was a Dell PERC5i in the system as well, the PERC stopped the Promise's bios from loading, however once in Windows the Promise card worked fine, but I don't want to have to leave another raid card in the new server just to disable the Promises bios.
A really wierd fault, any one got any ideas? I am goona leave it running overnight to initiase the array that it is currently building and see if that makes a difference.
