What is the difference bewteen the different chips used. It seems that its quite hard to find out what version of the chips that compaines are selling.

From what Ive been told is that Promos are bad.

But now bad? 5%, 10% 20% !!!???

what do you mean by promos? That ram list states the ram modules and the chips used in each. Any ram with Micron D9GMH & D9GKX will serve you well

Where say D9GMH C4 @ 6400 would run say 600mhz 5,5,5,8 timings, Promos will probably not even make it to 500mhz same timings.
D9 GMH also scales quite well with volts, which is behaviour promos IC's might not exhibit.
If your after overclocking ram, look to D9 xxx chips, if you want a small overclock but aren't too bothered them promos will do the job fine. If you don't care about overclocking at all then generic ram willl suit you fine.
