As the title says, how do you pronounce it?

I heard people said texted without the "ted" bit but a reader on BBC4 said it as in "separated"

Text-d.

Tex-ted sounds stupid.
Never really understood why text is called text over here in the UK, been used to calling it sms back when I was in Singapore.

Not too sure... i say both. For no particular reason

I just text you!
I just texted you!

I suppose 'ed is the proper one though.

Hang on why not fax ed me while your at it.

What? Why would you deliberately break a word that works in that context?

"I fax messages all day."
"I just faxed the order through."

You see, in your sentence, you clearly broke the norm for no apparent reason.
