Proper darts on the BBC tomorrow

First ever PDC tournament, the Champions League of Darts, is being shown on the beeb tomorrow.

Another git of a move by Barry Hearn. Still annoyed at the BDO's refusal to accept his buyout offer a few years ago, he has offered the rights to this to the BBC for cut price. BBC have decided to run with it and completely dropped the BDO, leaving it to BT Sport.

It will the first time Phil Taylor has played on the BBC since he went out to Kevin Spiolek in the second round of the BDO world championship in 1993, 23 years ago.

As for Hearn though, that man certainly has no scruples

I was amazed that BT were still interested in the BDO and then I had a quick google... turns out Channel4 have rights as well. :eek:

It really has been **** the last few years and I can see why the beeb gave it up.

PDC on the BBC is well weird - just doesn't seem right having good darts on the beeb.

Yep, some people are going to be mightily confused when you don't get to see 24-27 darts to win a leg.

Can tell it's PDC action, they harp on about a 9 darter as soon as someone opens with a treble 20.

Taylor thumps MVG 10-4. MVG failed to hold throw oncw in the whole match :eek:

He was on fire in the pro tour event last week, hit 9 darters in consecutive days!

These quick games are hard to judge who is the best as they are over before you know it, but they are exciting. Some great check outs from the powaaarrr!

PDC has been on ITV for a few years now, it's not as if those who only have access terrestrial TV have never seen decent players before.
