Afternoon all,

Planning to buy the below parts following the kind advice in this thread:
http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18681419

Would appreciate a quick check that everything will work together (and I've actually got everything I need) and will pull the trigger on it later if so. E.g. I have no idea what the two cables are for but they were included in the suggestions.

Thanks,

Ben.

You will need the cables if (a) you wish to connect all three drives (SSD/HDD and optical) and (b) you wish to run all three fans in that set-up (CPU cooler and 2 x 120mm fans).

Quick help needed if possible. CPU fan connection and CHA fan connection are reversed on the motherboard compared to the instructions. Any harm if I get the wrong one? Not using CHA as the 2 chassis fans are off the double connector adaptor from the psu. Thanks!

It wont matter, you can check in the bios to see if detects it as the CPU fan though. Ideally you want it to be detected as the CPU fan so that it controls the speed of the fan depending on the CPU temp. If you are using the Intel stock cooler it might be a little noisy if its on full speed all the time, or it might not spin up high enough to keep the CPU cool.

Out of curiosity, did your PSU have the right connectors for the GTX 970 or did you need to use the supplied adapters?

PSU had enough red bits that fitted. Was two lots of 6+2 connection included and it needs one 6 and one as 8. Hope that makes sense!

Windows now installing and BIOS recognises CPU fan so all OK thus far.

Thanks again!
