This will my first custom watercooling setup (have always used AquaComputer in the past) & I need some advice.

Proposed setup so far: I only wish to cool the CPU for now, is my setup okay?

RAD: Thermochill PA120.3
CPU: D-Tek Fuzion / EK Supreme (not sure here, awaiting reviews)
Pump: Laing DDC-1 Ultra 18watt Pump with Plexi Reservoir Top
Fans: Noctua NF-S12-1200 / Scythe S-FLEX 1600 RPM, SFF21F (please advise)
Tubing: Tygon R3603 3/8" ID
Barbs: This is where I'm not sure, all advice welcome.

Am I correct in thinking that I do not need a Res if I use the proposed pump?

Also do I put the fans ontop of the Rad or bellow the RAD?

Your choice of Water cooling components is an excellent choice.

Pump: Laing DDC-1 Ultra 18watt Pump with Plexi Reservoir top. You will not require an additional res.

The thermo chill rad does not have a dense core, so benefits from low CFM fans for example yate loons 12/1300rpm fans.

The D-Tek comes with 3/8 high flow barbs including 1/2".

The EK Supreme also comes with either 3/8 or 1/2" barbs.

For the rad you will need to purchase 3/8" BSPP thread, compatible with thermochill radiators

will you be mounting the rad externally or inside your case?

I totally agree, Yate loons with the DTEK Fuzion with Nozzle accelerator

3/8" stuff is cheaper so its your call on that one, there is no difference in performance to 1/2" stuff.

Drop the tygon tubing, its a waste of money.

Thanx for your help mate, Are the Noctua NF-S12-1200 fans not good enough? (as I already have 2 of them, only need to get one more) & the Rad will go inside the case (Lian Li G70)

I thought the same thing with regards to the Tygon, but my wife has already bought me some:)

What is the EK Supreme like? I can't seem to find any reviews, would I be able to use 3/8" tubing with 1/2" barbs, or is that a No No?

Yip the fans are fine if you only require one more then go for the third fan (saves money)

The rad i presume will be mounted in the roof of the case? have the fans mounted on top of the rad pulling fresh air over the rad, into the case. I presume your case has an exhaust fan?

Unfortunately it has been difficult to source performance reviews regarding the supreme.

Personally i would go for the D-Tek fusion and nozzle kit, i use it and the reviews demonstrate it is an excellent block and i have been extremely pleased with its performance.

You can use the 3/8" over 1/2 barbs. You would need to place the tubing in hot water and stretch it over the 1/2" ID barbs, this will provide an extremely tight seal without the need for hose clips. If you do this make sure you measure up your tubing and install the barbs on the block prior to installing the tubing. This will make installation easier.
