Propylene Glycol

hi folks,

has anyone use Propylene Glycol in their custom loops, if so how were/are the results.

I know its used in other coolants as is Ethylene Glycol, and just wondered if it can be used in a loop.

I used car coolant for a while and it works fine and doesn't cause any problems, but equally now I just use DI water and a biocide and that works just as well

Isn't that what Linus used in his whole room watercooling setup and it had no end of issues with gunking up?

He had problems as res wasn't cleaned and the anti freeze didn't stop growth in the loop I don't think.

Yeah , he assumed the anti freeze included biocide . Untill what I assumed was a dead mangled frog come out the res . Good watch , extremely well thought out design wise .... Unfortuntly his execution wasn't as good .

Propylene glycol IS biocide as long as you put enough in... At low concentrations it's food
