Pros and con's of winodws 7 partiton

Im getting a SSD today (only for games nopt for the OS) but im going to do a reformat while im at it. I have a 1TB WD hard drive, and i hav never really used a partition. What are the pros and cons?

I did partition when i first got bought w7 but it caused SO much trouble. These were the pros and cons i found in the short time i had the partition

pros
I could reinstall winodws 7 without having to reinstall games, apps etc

Con's :

Itunes couldnt find the music (which i had backed up the libaery file. The libary file told itunes to look on the C drive) and i had to re-find every bit of music. -_- and lost a lot of notes i had made on certin music files.

Some programs wouldnt let you choose where you could install them, which led to having to install them on the windows partiton.

So apart from the 1 pro is there any performance increase?
I REALLY dont want to have to install winodws 7, music etc on my ssd as ill seriously be left with NO room. Its only a 64Gb (59Gb) and i have way over 80GB of music alone. I did honetsly just buy it to soley use on games so PLEASE DONT SUGGEST INSTALLING o/S & PERSONAL FILES ON THE SSD.

I think you should install the OS and personal files on it.











But seriously, I've always found that you will have to reinstall a lot of games/apps anyway if you reinstall Windows. Some (most) programs work in a way that makes this unavoidable (registry entries, files installed in system folders, app data etc)

iTunes should be able to pick up the previous library from the previous database file without re-importing everything? Always has for me!

It does for me too sorry! I just mean if i had all my music stored in a certin location e.g C:Users/adam/music etc. Then partition and store the muisc in say D:users/adam/music It will still be looking in the first location if you get me lol I think ill jsut stick to not partition
