pros and cons please ?

Hi All I started a thread regarding Samsung and Dell gloss or matte finish monitors here http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18081874
but would like feedback about which is best and the pros and cons for them ?

Matte finish dramatically reduces glare and in my opinion offers a more natural image quality. Great for all-round use.

Gloss finish makes the screen appear brighter and more vivid. Great for movies & gaming, but be aware that you'll see obvious reflections on the screen when there's a dark background present. Some people are bothered by this, others aren't.

It can be handy to pay a visit to a shop where they have both types present & see which of the two you like best.

thanks very helpful info ,so would you say that glossy finish is better for watching dvd ,or not a lot in it ?

Mirror screen looks good in dark but in lighted room you'll be cursing reflections of your own face and every lighter coloured object/wall behind you. With right illumination you could use them as shaving mirror.

yeah this is what puts me off a glossy screen ,tend to be swaying to a matte finish

what good screens have gloss finish as they all seem to be matt now ?

i love hte apples gloss finish but to expensive and the dells have to much problems and are matt

so which gloss have a good screen at 24" 1200 res

This is a Dell glossy screen ,and Dell are a top class Tft this model is very good
