Hello! I'm pretty much ready to go ahead and purchase the components for my new set up, i just thought i'd run it by the forums just incase i made some oversights. Please feel free to recommend other similar specs at similar prices (not looking to go over £800) or alterations to the current spec :)

MOBO/CPU/RAM: Radon Intel Core i5 760 2.80GHz @ 4.00GHz Overclocked Bundle - Gigabyte £390

GPU: HIS ATI Radeon HD 6870 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card with FREE CODMW2 PC-Game £195

PSU: Corsair TX 650W ATX SLi Compliant Power Supply (CMPSU-650TXUK) £71

HDD: Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 500GB SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM (ST3500418AS) £30

OD: Sony Optiarc DRU-870S 24x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter (Black) - Retail £18

Case: NZXT Hades £63

Wireless Card: TP-Link 150Mbps Wireless Lite N PCI Express Adapter (TL-WN781N) £10

Total including VAT/Postage is £795

I got the wireless card because my student house doesn't do wired connections :'(

I'm quite impressed then, no major changes like ive seen made on some other similar threads :D initially i was going to get a 460GTX 1024MB but the motherboard was CF compatible only. AND i get a free game with the GPU so that sort of offsets the price haha, student scrimping to a moderate degree!

does having a 4X speed limit my choice of cards or does it limit the speed of communication between the two cards already in crossfire? and thanks for the case advice :D i thought the NZXT was sexy (in an aesthetically pleasing way). whats the pros of having the Cooler Master over the NZXT??

~No reduction in speed.

Without knowing what the NZXT has, the CM has filters everywhere, lots of fan "holes", a removable HDD tray thingy maboby to allow for up to 15" GPU's and also the possibility to venture into water cooling in the future.

I am a firm believer that things with more holes are better...

its the un-syncronised speed difference that ruins it, having one card getting more bandwidth than the other.

can i also ask if i theoretically did have 2 cards in crossfire on the motherboard in what way would things be 'ruined'? You'll have to forgive me for not knowing, my limits with computers extend to 'what bits go where' and 'mouse click 1 is kill'.

went ahead and bought it this morning, changed the HDD to the Samsung F3 due to popular demand and also the case to the CM 690-II lite deely. I saved a bit of money as well by taking advantage of the 'antec truepower 650w modular psu' offer at about £15 less than the corsair. £786 posted, should get here wednesday 24th :D thanks very much guys!
