Protect and Serve . . . yeah right !

Is it racist though to shoot more blacks than whites ?

Not always, its a complex issue, racism is ingrained into the very fabric of America, look how native Indians were treated or blacks in the south even after slavery,

that's not to say poor white people don't have it bad there also or that the police are militarized, so there are many factors at play I would imagine.

It doesnt take much for a holstered weapon to discharge, I have watched videos on ******** where people are messing around or even just placing a gun into a holster and its gone off wounding the guy in the leg etc (not sure if fatally or just a graze) but it happens.

Do the police not get issued with guns that have a safety toggle?

I can imagine being in America ,simply stopping, turning around and putting my hands out for the cuffs.

OMG!!!! OMG!!!!! HE'S REACHING FOR THE GUN QUICK SHOOT THE GUY!

Don't be silly.

I was taking your post half seriously until you said that.

Another Russell Brand hater I presume. Let me ask you this. Do you disagree with everything Russell says. I mean absolutely everything ? For example. If Russell said, an orange is a fruit. Would you disagree with that ? My point is, no matter how much you dislike the man, you should be intellectually honest and admit, that sometimes Russell is right.

The law of averages means that he's going to have good points occasionally but that doesn't mean he has a cohesive narrative.

at no point do i hear police shout drop the weapon. from the bbc video the reporter says "police can be heard shouting" then you here shouting then the reporter cuts them off again. i heard **** all.

Are you deaf? They are clearly shouting "drop the gun" or "drop the bun" or "drop the (insert something that rhymes with gun)".

In all likeliness, he had got hold of one of their guns and they were indeed shouting "drop the gun".

I doubt they shot him because he wouldn't let go of the iced bun he just bought from the bakery.

This will go on and on. America needs to revise it's approach to policing. Swap most of these incidents for the UK but keep everything else the same, and you end up with someone in custardy instead of someone in the morgue.
