Protecting files (encrypt?)

Hi all,

I have some files on my PC that I would prefer to stay hidden from prying eyes. Can I simply put them in a folder and password protect it somehow? Using Vista Ultimate x64.

Is there another program that can password protect an entire folder? I know WinRar can do it but I'd rather not have the contents in an archive.

Thanks, but it's not working. It won't install, saying there's a compatibility issue.
